A TYPICAL WEDDING TIMELINE
What do you want your Wedding to look like?
YOUR WEDDING, YOUR WAY
A typical Wedding at Thief Hall…
We encourage couples to put their own spin on their wedding. This means that if you want your wedding to run a little differently then you can do so at Thief Hall. If you’re looking for a twilight ceremony, why not? If you’ve always wanted an intimate ceremony with just 10 of your closest people, why not? Or maybe you’d be more interested in a wild party with no formal speeches or sit-down meal, you guessed it, why not?
If you don’t know where to start or what you want your wedding to look like, this page may be a helpful place to start. Many couples will often ask us what a typical wedding looks like at Thief Hall, well here it is. And remember if this timeline doesn’t suit your style, that’s okay. Our coordinators have seen it all and can sit and create a personalised timeline to suit you!

An extra night just you two
At Thief Hall, all our couples get two bonus nights’ stay in their Wedding Suite. Four nights for our couples, two nights for their guests. As most couples choose to get married with us over a weekend, the wedding couple typically arrive on a Thursday evening. Imagine settling in with a takeaway or watching the sunset in your hot tub, excited about your wedding day and letting the remaining planning stress melt away.

A whole day to decorate
Friday morning, you’ll wake up rested and ready for your final day of wedding prep. Start the morning with a final run-through meeting with your coordinator, to answer any of your remaining burning questions. See your wedding venue set up for your wedding and have the chance to add the final touches to your decor, perfect your centrepieces or double check those place names.
If your guests are staying onsite, they can arrive from midday. Your coordinator will make sure they are all settled into their accommodation and ensure that they are feeling just as comfortable as you both do. If you are getting married onsite, we always suggest a ceremony rehearsal for you and your wedding party. This can help get rid of any nerves about music timings and walking down the aisle before settling in for your Wedding Eve.

Wedding Eve Celebrations
Once everything is in place and everyone is settled in, your pre-wedding celebrations can start. Some couples choose to gather their guests in the communal courtyard where guests can bring their own food and drinks. Some couples have opted to book food vans for some pre-wedding pizza or fish & chips.
Alternatively, you could opt for the bar to be open where you can raise a glass or two ahead of your wedding day. Whatever you choose to do, having the Friday evening before your wedding with your friends and family around helps to kickstart that wedding high and make the most of your wedding weekend!

Your Wedding Morning has arrived!
Hair and makeup in full swing in the makeup room for the Bridal party, bacon sandwiches and Dutch courage beers for the Groom and his Wedding party. The planning has paid off, your big day is officially here! The bar opens as the rest of your guests arrive, all ready to see you walk down the aisle.

Say I do
Whichever ceremony style or set up you choose, enjoy this moment saying I Do to your best friend. Head out to our Patio for that gorgeous confetti picture, followed by group shots with your guests.

Time for Drinks
The nerve-wracking part is over, it’s time to relax and enjoy your wedding day with your guests. The reception drinks are poured, the canapés are floating. You might even choose live music or entertainment for your guests to enjoy while you head around the venue or to our nearby woodland for your couple portraits.

Speeches & Food
Your guests are seated, your coordinator announces you in as the Newlyweds and the room filled with your closest people erupts into cheers and singing. The most electric atmosphere to calm the nerves of those chosen few giving speeches. They’re able to give their speech and get it out of the way so that they can also enjoy the rest of your wedding day. More importantly you can all enjoy the wedding food you’ve taken time choosing. Whether that’s a seated meal, sharing boards or buffet, your wedding breakfast is one of the highlights of the day for so many weddings.

Golden Hour
Our sunsets are legendary and something we specifically add into your timeline to make sure you don’t miss out on those beautiful golden hour shots. The perfect time to sneak off with your photographer to get those stunning shots to hang on your living room wall. It’s also a win to gain some extra time just you two to soak up your wedding day with each other, all with the perfect backdrop.

Time to Party
After your meal, the room is reset for your evening party. Your evening guests will arrive, ready to tuck into your evening food; street food pizza, roaming gyros, hog roast whatever your vibe and here to bring the second wave of energy to your day guests. Your first dance as a newly married couple, you cut your wedding cake and you dance the night away until 2am if you can (yes our bar really does stay open that late). What an incredible day that made all of the planning worth it!

The Wedding Debrief
The goodbyes don’t have to be said at midnight on the dancefloor. The morning after your wedding, you can look forward to reminiscing with your guests staying onsite. Debriefing over breakfast, we even have local suppliers who can deliver home-cooked breakfasts, pastries and sandwiches to enjoy. The buzz around the cottages and courtyard the morning after a wedding is sometimes one of the best parts of the wedding weekend. Getting to spend that extra time with your loved ones before they head home and you can hide away for your final night of your wedding weekend. Eat leftover wedding cake in bed or head out to the local pub for a Sunday dinner just the two of you. All the while enjoying your newly married bubble before checking out on Monday morning, and heading home or off on your honeymoon. The best weekend of your lives and all of your new memories and wedding photos to enjoy.
However you choose to celebrate your wedding at Thief Hall, we are positive we can make it the best celebration. We are here to support our couples the entire way through the process and we can’t wait to help you plan your special day.
