Did you know we are dog friendly? All your family members can be part of your big day, even your furry friends!
Dogs on site
Do some of your guests also want to bring their dogs? Well they can! Most of our cottages are dog friendly and all of our pods too. We know how much dogs mean to people and that’s why we love having them here! While you’re here why not take them for a lovely walk through the countryside, there’s plenty of walking routes to choose from. Not only can they stay in the accommodation but they can also have roles throughout the day, they can be in your ceremony, have photos with you at the woods or maybe you would like them to greet guests as they arrive! Get your furry friends involved!!

Part of the Ceremony
If you’re thinking of having your dog in the ceremony consider who is going to look after them/ hold them for the ceremony, sometimes it can be overwhelming with that many people present, so we always advise that you have someone to look after them so that if they need to leave the situation someone can easily take them out. Due to this, we’d ideally recommend someone who isn’t in the bridal party. We always recommend that your dog comes to the ceremony rehearsal to make sure they are comfortable in that environment. We love it when dogs are involved in the ceremony it’s a nice personal touch for the couple.
Make sure they are looking smart!
Why not get them a new outfit or accessory to make sure they look the part on your big day. Or maybe even a little trip to the groomers so that they are picture paw-fect! As we are located between Thirsk and Northallerton you have a range of businesses to choose from including Pets at Home which has a groomers in it, or if you’d prefer to support a local business, there’s plenty of independent pet shops and groomers that would be happy to get your furry friends wedding day ready.

If you need a bit of extra help…
Although we love having dogs during the special day sometimes it isn’t always practical to put the responsibility of checking on them on an a member of your wedding party as this means they might miss out on certain aspects of the day. There’s also a good possibility they might forget to go and check up on them after a few drinks once the party gets started! So why not look at booking a doggy sitter, for example Bow Wow Vow, Tails of Swale and Chuck Tails are just a few that would help out to make sure your furry friends are at your big day and not left behind!
Our team is full of dog lovers and it’s always an added bonus when couples or guests bring their dogs along to a wedding. The whole family should be able to attend and we love to see it which is why we love being dog friendly.
